This striking girl is a bright sorrel with a blanket with large spots, plus extra white spots outside her blanket, a star and strip, and lacy feather marks on all four legs.
Well, here's a great filly that is well put together with good muscle, nice head, and sharp, pretty color! By KS's Dash For Pants and out of KS's Blue Sapphire Twist, 'Ruby' has several older siblings to be proud of. Probably the most well known is KS's Cool Blue Dash,ROM(H), who also ended 2006 #1 in the Nation for 2 year old stallions at halter! KS's Dash of Pizazz, KS's Blue Chip Dash, and KS's Red Hot Dash are also Ruby's siblings. The halter and performance records of this cross are already proven, and Ruby is no exception! With her pretty color she gets noticed where ever she goes, and her proven versatility makes her a contender in any and every discipline. Owned by John Jacobs of Coaling, Alabama, Ruby returned to KS's Pony Farm to be fitted and shown for the 2008 show season. She kicked off her show career with a bang in May, winning her halter class and standing Reserve Grand Champion both days! She also made her debuts in lungeline, lead-in trail, and most colorful, with wins in lungeline and color, and a 2nd place finish in trail. The SE Regional was next on her schedule, where she again won her halter class
and stood Reserve Jr Champion, placed 3rd in a tough lungeline class, and turned out a great trail pattern. After a short break, training resumed for the International Show in St Louis. Hard work paid off as Ruby placed 3rd in yearling lead-in trail, and 10th in yearling lungeline- both classes of 31 entries! She was also used by two judges in halter, and one in most colorful, so she truly had a great show. Ruby continued to improve on her impressive show record as she finished up TNPOAC state competition, and then placed 5th in yearling halter fillies at the Futurities in a class of 26 top fillies. The 2008 show season recap includes 5 Grand Championships, 4 reserve Grands, 217 halter points, and 145 color points. She was also Reserve High Point halter mare and High Point yearling/two year old in-hand pony in the Tennessee POA Club! After a winter break, Ruby returned to KS's Pony Farm to start her training under saddle. Competing in 2 year old JPFC classes, halter and most colorful, she proved herself as an all-around competitor. At her first show of the season, she stood Grand Champion mare both days, and won JPFC western pleasure and trail. Her second show of the season was the Southeast Regional, where she was Reserve Grand Champion mare and High Point JPFC 2 year old! Next on the schedule was the International Show, where Ruby only continued to shine. She placed 8th in JPFC 2 year old trail, 2nd in Most Colorful mares, 5th in a very tough 2 year old mare halter class, and placed 9th under two judges in JPFC 2 year old hunter under saddle. As the year progressed, Ruby continued to get more solid under saddle, and had many wins at the state level. Nearing the end of the show season, Ruby was looking better than ever. At the 2009 Futurities in Iowa, she was named Futurity Champion 2 year old mare in halter, placed 9th in JPFC 2 year old trail, and 4th in most colorful. She ended the year undefeated in halter in state show competition with 10 grands, tied for TNPOAC High Point halter mare, and was TNPOAC High Point JPFC. She finished her ROM in halter with a lifetime total of 528 halter points, 15 grands, and 5 reserves, earned 352 color points and ended the year #6 in the Nation in 2 year old mares. Ruby retired from the show ring at the end of the 2009 show season- at least for now. Her owner, John Jacobs, plans to breed her to International and Futurity Champion Kind Of Impulsive for a 2011 foal. So it is certain that you have not heard the last of KS's Dashing For Rubies- a mare that truly shines like a gem!
