KS's Some Ghosts R Royal

Beautiful almost isn't the right word for this mare! Gorgeous body, feminine head, awesome neck, good legs, and mover deluxe would only begin to describe her. Check out the pictures for yourself, they don't come along like this very often! By Alias Ghost King and out of KS's Pants Royal Ann, an own daughter of Hall of Fame stallion Smokey Pants out of a great little QH granddaughter of King who also traces to Wimpy and Poco Bueno. Show ring prowess has been in Roy's family for many years with many generations of equines, and this talented young mare is KS's Some Ghosts R Royalproving that pedigree power equals performance power. As a weanling, with only 10 days of fitting, she won her class both days at her first ever show, and was named Grand Champion mare one day. She went on to win the prestegious Select Sire Futurity on her 6 month birthday, a feat many POAs and their breeders only dream about. After winning the SSF, Roy went to her new home at Shaman Ranch in Versaillies, IN with Charlie and Penny Brinson. Charlie continued to work with Roy, but they didn't make it to any shows Roy's yearling or two year old years. Late last fall Roy returned to KS's Pony Farm for training and preperation for the 2010 KS's Some Ghosts R Royal show season. After a winter of learning how to be a riding pony, Roy made her grand return to the show ring in April 2010. Time has only improved this young mare, as KS's Some Ghosts R Royal she won her halter class and stood Grand Champion Mare both days! The next show on the schedule was the Southeast Regional, where she again won her halter class both Promo and Regional days, and had some good placings against tough competition in JPFC. At the Mideast Regional show Roy won her halter class on Promo day, and was second in the Regional. She also had some very good performance placings against ponies with a lot more riding and show ring experience than she had. Highlights include 3rd in JPFC Hunter Under Saddle, 2nd in 19&O reining, and she also showed in western pleasure and trail. At the 2010 International Roy won 3 year KS's Some Ghosts R Royal old halter mares, was Senior Champion, and Grand Champion Mare over around 100 of the top POAs in the country! Roy is now one of the few Select Sire Futurity winners to go on to be Grand Champion at the International. But, she again proved that she's not just a halter pony, as she earned a 4th place finish in JPFC 3&4 y/o Trail in a large class of 26. At our August show, Roy was Grand Champion mare both days, and won every performance class she competed in except one. That included 19&Over pleasure classes against senior ponies! She also finished the weekend High Point JPFC. Wrapping up the show season at the last 3 show weekends, Roy was again undefeated in halter, standing Grand 6 more times. She earned primiarily first and second place finishes in western pleasure, horsemanship, trail, reining, hunter under saddle, and huntseat equitation, frequently competing against not only POAs but also other horse breeds in IBC shows. At the 2010 International Futurities Roy continued her grand sweep of national events in halter, winning the 3 and 4 year old mares halter class! She also brought home a 5th place finish in JPFC reining. Unofficially, Roy earned 439 halter points, and has been named Grand Champion 12 times. While Roy was sometimes at a disadvantage against ponies who had much more show experience than she did on the rail, it was plain to see she has what it takes to be a true all-around pony and compete to win in every class POA has to offer. Roy also finished the year only 11 points shy of an ROM in 19&over events, and as year end High Point Halter Mare, JPFC, and Reserve High Point 19&Over in TNPOAC. As of November 15th, Roy is #3 in the Nation in 3 year old halter mares. Roy has now been retired at the peak of her potential, and will spend the rest of her life being the prettiest pasture mower ever seen at Shaman Ranch in Versaillies, Indiana. Thank you to Charlie and Penny Brinson for allowing us to show this truly once in a lifetime mare in 2010.
