KS's JW White Lighting
Born March 30, 1980, JW was a red roan with a blanket to his withers with spots, three stockings, and a blaze. He stood 55 7/8 inches tall.
JW was an Appaloosa colt purchased in a 3-in-1 package with his dam when he was a yearling. As he grew, it was decided to cross him on some of our Warrior and Paper Tiger daughters. The results were impressive, as he sired several Supreme Champions out of his first couple foal crops, including KS's Aim For Fame and KS's Bandina Breeze. After the height change to 56 inches, JW was hardshipped into the POA registry and began his show career at the young age of 8. Out of 13 shows that year, he stood grand champion at 11 of them, while his two reserves included the 1988 International. He also finshed 1988 3rd in the nation for large aged stallions. While JW and his get did well in halter, performance was undeniably their stronger suit. JW was shown by Brenda Henderson in equitation classes in his short show career, performing admerably. Some of JW's top performing get include KS's Some Kinda Twist, Supreme Champion, KS's Cream Puff Twist, Supreme Champion, KS's Stand Me Grand, ROM(H), ROM(N), and KS's Half Moon Twist, ROM(N), ROM(T), ROM-CH. JW had many outstanding foals in 10 foal crops, but his full potential as a sire will never be known. JW lost his life March 9, 1993 in the barn fire.
