KS's Handsome As Bond

One of only two foals sired by International Champion KS's Dashs Double O Seven before his exportation to Australia, Connery is almost the spitting image of his sire. While this is the first foal for his sire, Connery's dam is an already well proven mare. Shown herself in halter and JPFC classes before retiring to the broodmare band, KS's Tigers Date A Dream has already produced KS's Justa Tad Nifty, ROM Champion, International Res. Champion, KS's Ima Nifty Peterbilt, National High Point Champion, and KS's Nifty Hello Kitty, Alabama State Open Show top 5 in halter and walk/trot. Connery has a beautiful head with wide set eyes and a tiny muzzle, a shapely neck, KS's Handsome As Bond and the same wide build and huge hip his sire has. On top of that he is a very good mover who just loves to lope, and you won't find a more charismatic chap! With a proven, power packed pedigree, acomplished siblings, aunts, and uncles, Connery is destined to be a show pony and then sire deluxe. Connery made his showring debut in 2009, and what a great start it was to what has been an illustrious career. At only his second show of KS's Handsome As Bond the season, Connery took home Reserve Grand Champion Stallion and Reserve High Point Yearling Triad at the Southeast Regional! From there it was on to the International Show, where he brought home an 8th place in halter. As the year continued, Connery racked up wins against some very tough competition in halter, yearling lunge line, and in-hand trail. As a July foal, Connery was fequently at a disadvantage due to his age and size, at times competing against colts 6 months older than himself. However, he continued to show his quality and talent. At the 2009 KS's Handsome As BondInternational Futurities, Connery placed 5th in halter dispite being obviously the smallest colt in the class. As the icing on the cake, Connery ended the year Reserve High Point halter stallion, and High Point in-hand in the Tennessee POA Club. Connery attended his first 2010 show in April where he was unbeaten in halter standing Grand Champion Stallion both days, and also won every in-hand class he was entered in! Continuing his winning ways, Connery was Reserve Grand Champion stallion at the Southeast Regional, and Reserve High Point 2 year old in-hand. At the International show he took 4th in a tough 2 year old halter class. His next show was in August, where he stood Grand and was high point in-hand pony! Down the stretch in state competition Connery continued to earn grands and reserves in halter, and won all but 2 of his KS's Handsome As Bondin-hand performance classes at our last 3 show weekends! At the 2010 Futurities Connery again had a good showing, placing 3rd in halter, 5th in lungeline, and 8th in trail. He earned his ROM in halter as a 2 year old, finished the year High Point Halter Stallion and High Point In-Hand Pony in TNPOAC, and was #5 in the Nation in 2 year old colts for 2010. Connery was started under saddle in November of 2010, and made his debut in riding classes in 2011. Shown in every adult class offered in state competition, he earned many wins in halter, trail, western pleasure, hunter under saddle, reining, equitation, and even speed events. Connery had previously proven his quality in the halter pen as a yearling and 2 year old, and continued to earn Grand and Reserve Grand champion titles this year. Connery earned Top 5 finishes in halter at both the International Show and Futurities, dispite being the smallest one in the class. He even finished the year #4 in the Nation in 3 year old stallions, and TNPOAC year-end High point halter stallion! Under saddle Connery excelled in many events, though his best (and favorite) was western pleasure. He is one of those ponies who just loves to go slow! Competing against many older and finished ponies in 19&over, or ponies closer to his own age in JPFC, Connery took home top placings. At the Southeast Regional and promo shows he did not place lower than 3rd in western pleasure in classes of up to 11 entries! He also did very well in reining, trail, and hunter under saddle, and came home with High Point JPFC and Reserve High Point 19&over. At the International show he had awesome rides on the rail, and was 3rd in JPFC reining and 11th in 19&over reining. Continuing to show in state competition in the early fall, Connery took home High Point awards for JPFC and 19&over at every show that offered them. At the Alabama IBC show weekend in late September Connery even won 19 & Over western pleasure in a class of 12 entries competing against POAs, Quarter Horses, and Paints! He was by far the shortest in stature in his classes at nearly every show he competed in, yet he proved his big heart and even bigger personality over and over. At the 2011 Futurities Connery brought home a 9th place finish in reining, and a 3rd place finish in halter. At the final state show of the season, he even turned up the heat and competed in speed events, winning every class he entered. Proving his great mind and sound training, he returned to the rail the next day and put down some great pleasure rides. When all the dust settled, Connery was TNPOAC 2011 year-end High Point in halter, JPFC, and 19&over, and has earned a lifetime total of 793 halter points, 15 Grands, and 13 Reserve Grands. Now Connery is moving on to the breeding barn, and he will be standing at stud in 2012. His services are nominated to the Select Sire Futurity, and inquiries are welcome. He truly is Handsome... as Handsome As Bond!
